For this recent project in Tahawai, near Katikati, our team at Deck & Fence Co designed, fabricated and installed a beautiful pair of custom aluminium driveway gates.
Featuring a classic arched top, vertical tongue-and-groove panels and a crisp white powder-coated finish, the finished gates create a welcoming entrance while offering the strength and durability of aluminium.
The Project: A Custom Entrance with Character
The goal was to create a driveway entrance that offered privacy without feeling too closed off.
The design combines solid vertical tongue-and-groove aluminium panels across the lower section with an open, curved upper section featuring evenly spaced vertical bars.
This gives the gates a traditional, almost country-style appearance, while the aluminium construction offers the benefits of a modern, low-maintenance material.
Finished in Satin Appliance White, the gates complement the established greenery and rural surroundings of the property.
Our Solution: Custom Aluminium Gates, Made Locally
Unlike off-the-shelf gates, these were custom fabricated to suit the property's driveway and the client's preferred design.
Each gate measures approximately 2.3 metres wide and 1.8 metres high, creating an impressive entrance across the driveway.

Every element was carefully measured and fabricated to create a matching pair, with the curved tops meeting neatly in the centre.
Behind the Scenes: Fabricated in Our Tauranga Workshop

For this project, our team constructed the gate frames, shaped the curved top sections, installed the tongue-and-groove panels and prepared the gates for powder coating.
