Feature Project: Timber Fence & Custom Aluminium Gate Installation in Papamoa

The Client's Challenge

Our client wanted to replace an ageing timber boundary fence and outdated gate that had seen better days. The existing fence was leaning, weathered and no longer provided the tidy street-facing appearance they were after.

They also wanted a gate that was both secure and visually striking—something that would complement their home while allowing airflow and requiring very little maintenance.

Our Solution

We removed the existing fence, rails and posts before installing a brand-new timber boundary fence with clean vertical battens for a modern finish.

To complete the project, we installed a custom powder-coated aluminium slat gate in a bold red colour. The gate had been custom manufactured to fit the opening precisely, with new structural posts installed to ensure a strong, long-lasting result.

A new timber step was also built to create safer, easier access through the gateway.

Materials Used

• H4 treated 100x100 timber fence posts 

• 100x50 timber rails 

• Premium 90x18 vertical timber palings 

• Additional retaining timber where required 

• Custom powder-coated aluminium slat gate (red finish) 

• Heavy-duty gate hardware and hinges 

• Timber access step 

Time Taken

Approximately 2–3 days

This included demolition of the existing fence, installation of new posts and fencing, fitting the custom aluminium gate, and completing the finishing details.
